We wanted something different. Something tougher. Something more customizable. Something that felt less like a throwaway pool toy and more like real outdoor gear.
That idea became Rugged Float — a modular, no-air floating system built for pools, lakes, rivers, camping trips, backyard parties, and summer adventure.
Built From an Outdoor Mindset
The inspiration behind Rugged Float comes from a love of Jeeps, camping, hiking, travel, warm weather, and time on the water.
As a Jeep Wrangler enthusiast and outdoor lifestyle fan, I’ve always liked gear that can be modified, upgraded, repaired, and made your own. That same mindset helped shape Rugged Float.

Rugged Float was not designed to be a stiff plastic raft or a basic inflatable. It was designed to be flexible, adjustable, and built around real-world use.
Inspired by Life in the U.S. and Colombia
I also spend about half the year in Colombia, where warm weather, water, family, and outdoor living are a big part of everyday life.
That mix of rugged U.S. outdoor culture and tropical Colombian lifestyle helped inspire the product.
Rugged Float is built for pool days, lake weekends, river lounging, backyard hangouts, camping trips, and anywhere people want to relax, cool off, and enjoy the water without messing with pumps, leaks, or popping inflatables.
A Father and Son Business
Rugged Float is also a father and son business.
My son Tanner is a former Marine with an engineering background. His experience working around aircraft maintenance and precision systems brought a practical, technical mindset to the product.
My side brings the ideas, branding, outdoor obsession, and the constant question:
“What if we made this way cooler?”
Together, we’re building Rugged Float with a focus on function, creativity, strength, and real-world usability.
