Product Safety / Use Guidelines

Rugged Float is designed for recreational water enjoyment in calm, safe water conditions. Please read and follow these safety guidelines before using your float.

Rugged Float is built for comfort, customization, and fun — but like any water product, it should always be used responsibly.

Important Safety Notice

Rugged Float is not a life-saving device.

It is not a:

  • Life jacket
  • Personal flotation device
  • Rescue device
  • Swimming aid for non-swimmers
  • Boat, raft, or emergency flotation device

Do not rely on Rugged Float for safety, survival, rescue, or swimming support.

Use Only in Safe Water Conditions

Rugged Float is intended for calm recreational use.

Use only in safe areas such as:

  • Swimming pools
  • Calm lake areas
  • Calm shallow water
  • Controlled recreational water settings

Do not use Rugged Float in:

  • Rough water
  • Strong currents
  • Fast-moving rivers
  • Ocean surf
  • High winds
  • Stormy weather
  • Deep water if you are not a capable swimmer
  • Areas with boat traffic
  • Unsafe or restricted water zones

Adult Supervision Required

Children should only use Rugged Float with close adult supervision.

Never leave children unattended in or near water, even when using a float, pool toy, or flotation product.

Rugged Float is not a substitute for adult supervision or proper water safety.

Inspect Before Each Use

Before using your Rugged Float, inspect all parts carefully.

Check for:

  • Loose bungees
  • Loose clamps
  • Damaged mesh
  • Cracked or damaged foam rails
  • Sharp edges
  • Missing parts
  • Damaged accessories
  • Worn cords or connectors
  • Any part that does not feel secure

Do not use the product if any part appears damaged, unsafe, or improperly attached.

Getting On and Off Safely

Rugged Float is designed for relaxed floating, not jumping or rough play.

For best use:

  • Enter the water first
  • Hold the float steady
  • Slowly ease onto the mesh
  • Let the float settle naturally
  • Keep your body centered
  • Exit slowly and carefully

Do not jump, dive, flip, stand, wrestle, or roughhouse on Rugged Float.

Controlled Flex Design

Rugged Float is built with a flexible, modular design.

The frame may move, shift, or flex slightly in the water. This is part of the design and helps the float move naturally instead of acting like a stiff plastic raft.

Remember:

Rugged, not rigid.

However, if the float feels overly loose, unstable, damaged, or unsafe, stop using it and inspect all parts before continuing.

Accessory Safety

Some Rugged Float models may include accessories such as:

  • Waterproof phone pouch
  • Clip light
  • Bluetooth speaker
  • Drink holder
  • Storage pouch
  • Headrest
  • Add-on attachments

Before use, make sure all accessories are securely attached and do not interfere with entering, exiting, or floating safely.

Electronic accessories should be used according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Water-resistant or waterproof ratings may vary by accessory.

No Diving, Jumping, or Standing

Do not:

  • Dive onto Rugged Float
  • Jump onto Rugged Float
  • Stand on Rugged Float
  • Use it as a diving platform
  • Tow it behind a boat or vehicle
  • Use it as a rescue device
  • Use it in unsafe water conditions

Rugged Float is intended for relaxed recreational floating only.

Weight and Comfort

Rugged Float is designed to keep your body supported while still allowing you to stay cool in the water.

It is not designed to keep your entire body completely out of the water like a rigid raft.

Float feel may vary based on:

  • Body size
  • Water conditions
  • Mesh tension
  • Bungee setup
  • Accessories attached
  • Float configuration

If the float does not feel comfortable or stable, adjust the tension or exit the float safely.

Care After Use

After using Rugged Float:

  • Rinse with fresh water
  • Remove or dry accessories
  • Let mesh dry fully
  • Inspect cords, bungees, clamps, and connectors
  • Store out of direct sunlight when possible
  • Keep away from sharp objects, pets, and extreme heat

Proper care helps extend the life of your float and accessories.

Do Not Modify Unsafely

Rugged Float is modular and designed for customization, but all modifications should be safe and secure.

Do not add parts that:

  • Create sharp edges
  • Add unsafe weight
  • Interfere with floating
  • Trap arms, legs, hair, or clothing
  • Make the float unstable
  • Damage the mesh, cords, or foam rails

Use only safe, compatible accessories and attachment methods.

Use Common Sense Around Water

Water can be unpredictable. Always use caution.

For safest use:

  • Swim with others nearby
  • Avoid alcohol-impaired use
  • Stay aware of your surroundings
  • Keep away from drains, docks, boats, and pool equipment
  • Follow all pool, lake, campground, marina, or local water rules
  • Exit the water if weather or conditions change

Final Safety Reminder

Rugged Float is made for fun, comfort, and recreational floating.

It is not safety equipment.

Always inspect before use, use in safe water conditions, supervise children closely, and enjoy responsibly.
