Rugged Float is designed to be simple, modular, and adjustable. Before using your float, take a few minutes to inspect the parts, connect the frame, adjust the mesh, and make sure everything feels secure.
Before You Start
Choose a clean, open area near the pool, lake, or water where you can lay out all parts.
Your Rugged Float may include:
- Foam flotation rails
- Mesh body support
- Internal reinforced core system
- Bungees
- Clamps
- Connectors
- Waterproof phone pouch
- Clip light
- Bluetooth speaker
- Other accessories depending on your model
Before entering the water, check that all parts are attached properly and nothing appears damaged, loose, sharp, or missing.
1. Lay Out the Float
Place the foam rails on the ground in the shape of the float.
Make sure the mesh sits in the center and the rails are positioned evenly around it.
The float is designed to have some movement and flexibility. It does not need to feel like a stiff plastic raft.
Remember:
Rugged, not rigid.
2. Connect the Frame
Connect the corners and internal support system according to your model.
The frame should feel connected and secure, but it may still have some give. That controlled flex is part of the design and helps the float move naturally with the water.
Do not force parts together. If something feels too tight, check the alignment and adjust before continuing.
3. Attach the Mesh
Attach the mesh to the frame using the bungees, clamps, or connection points provided.
Start with the corners first, then move to the sides.
For best results:
- Keep the mesh centered
- Make sure the tension is even
- Do not overtighten
- Leave enough give for comfort
- Adjust as needed for your preferred floating feel
A tighter mesh may feel more supportive.
A looser mesh may feel more relaxed and hammock-like.
4. Check the Bungees and Clamps
Before use, make sure each bungee and clamp is secure.
Check that:
- Bungees are attached correctly
- Clamps are tightened properly
- Cords are not twisted
- Nothing is rubbing sharply against the mesh
- Accessories are firmly connected
The bungee system is what helps create the adjustable, modular feel of Rugged Float.
5. Add Accessories
If your model includes accessories, attach them before entering the water.
Accessories may include:
- Drink holder
- Waterproof phone pouch
- Clip light
- Bluetooth speaker
- Headrest
- Storage pouch
- Extra add-ons
Make sure all accessories are secured and positioned where they will not interfere with getting on or off the float.
6. Test in Shallow Water First
Before fully using Rugged Float, test it in shallow, calm water.
Gently place it in the water and check:
- Does it float evenly?
- Does the mesh feel centered?
- Are the bungees holding properly?
- Are accessories secure?
- Does the frame have comfortable flex?
Make small adjustments before full use.
7. Getting On the Float
Rugged Float is designed for relaxed floating, not jumping, diving, or rough play.
To use it:
- Enter the water first
- Hold the sides of the float
- Slowly ease your body into the mesh
- Let the float settle naturally
- Adjust your position until comfortable
Do not jump onto the float from outside the water.
8. Adjust for Comfort
Rugged Float can be adjusted based on how you like to float.
For a firmer feel:
- Tighten the mesh slightly
- Move bungees closer
- Add more tension
For a more relaxed hammock feel:
- Loosen the mesh slightly
- Allow more give in the center
- Let your body sit lower in the water
The goal is to stay supported while still staying cool in the water.
9. After Use
After using Rugged Float:
- Rinse with fresh water
- Remove or dry accessories
- Let the mesh dry completely
- Check bungees and clamps
- Store out of direct sun when possible
Proper care helps your float last longer and keeps parts ready for the next water day.
